Copper Storage Management was founded in 2019 by the Copper family; self-storage owners who saw a more innovative, more efficient way to manage facilities. Drawing on years of experience owning, auditing and analyzing properties across the country, we built a business model that combines real-world knowledge with advanced technology and exceptional service.
Today, Copper Storage Management partners with owners nationwide to simplify operations, strengthen performance and maximize profitability. Our remote, third-party management model delivers all the benefits of professional management, without the overhead of on-site staff. Jacob Copper
CEO
Jacob Copper is the CEO of Copper Storage Management, where he leads the company with a focus on innovation and excellence in the self-storage industry. Jacob joined CSM in November 2022, and his previous role as Senior Client Relations Specialist involved leading efforts to enhance client relationships and drive improved performance across the company’s facilities.
Brett Copper
President/Partner
Brett has grown up in the self-storage industry. As Bob Copper’s son, he has worked with Self Storage 101, the country’s leading self-storage consulting firm, since he was a teenager. After college, Brett worked with CubeSmart to gain further insight into 3rd Party Management and Operations before joining Self Storage 101 full time.
Tess Toth
Director of Sales and Marketing
Tess Toth is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Copper Storage Management. Previously, she worked at Live Oak Bank for over 8 years in their marketing department and created the Lead Management sector at the bank helping drive millions of dollars of closed loans in 2021 and 2022.
Matt Edwards
Director of Accounting
Matt Edwards is the Director of Accounting at Copper Storage Management. He previously held positions in various industries, primarily related to residential construction, where he worked for two national builders. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida.

Jacob Copper
CEO
Jacob Copper is the CEO of Copper Storage Management, where he leads the company with a focus on innovation and excellence in the self-storage industry. Jacob joined CSM in November 2022, and his previous role as Senior Client Relations Specialist involved leading efforts to enhance client relationships and drive improved performance across the company’s facilities.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UNC – Charlotte, as well as a Master of International Studies from North Carolina State University. Jacob’s background includes valuable experience at Self Storage 101, where he conducted feasibility studies, due diligence audits, and operational audits. Jacob’s diverse exposure in the industry has equipped him with a well-rounded understanding of the dynamics affecting owners, operators, and property managers.
Brett Copper
President/Partner
Brett has grown up in the self-storage industry. As Bob Copper’s son, he has worked with Self Storage 101, the country’s leading self-storage consulting firm, since he was a teenager. After college, Brett worked with CubeSmart to gain further insight into 3rd Party Management and Operations before joining Self Storage 101 full time.
For the last 5 years, Brett has worked with hundreds of self-storage owners and operators on management, marketing, acquisitions, feasibility, and training for facilities all over the United States. Seeing a growing need for alternative management solutions in the industry, Brett, along with the rest of the Copper family, created Copper Storage Management.
Today, Copper Storage Management has become the largest (non-REIT) 3rd Party management company specifically catering to remote self-storage facilities. Copper Storage Management currently manages almost 200 facilities nationwide and continues to grow at an unprecedented rate. The Coppers have also acquired and sold large portfolios of unmanned facilities under the brand Copper Safe Storage.
Tess Toth

Tess Toth is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Copper Storage Management. Previously, she worked at Live Oak Bank for over 8 years in their marketing department and created the Lead Management sector at the bank helping drive millions of dollars of closed loans in 2021 and 2022.
At Copper Storage Management, Tess oversees the marketing and sales strategy, manages the lead pipeline and sales funnel, writes original industry articles and blogs, and creates company collateral.

Matt Edwards is the Director of Accounting at Copper Storage Management. He previously held positions in various industries, primarily related to residential construction, where he worked for two national builders. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida.
At Copper Storage Management Matt oversees the accounting operation, ensuring that all of the company’s financial data is accurately recorded.
Alex Gordon
Field Operations Manager
Alex Gordon is the Field Operations Manager for Copper Storage Management. He holds two BS degrees from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, one in Secondary Education and another in History. After a few years in the teaching world, an opportunity in the self storage industry opened up, and he stepped in to help kickstart CSM in 2019. His previous experience at CubeSmart Self Storage helped pave the way to assist in operations, as he saw from ground zero, the day to day issues facilities, managers, and tenants deal with in the self-storage world.
At CSM, Alex has done everything from answering tenant calls, speaking with owners, traveling all across the country to assist in audits and closings, promoting new initiatives and policies, and leading and training a team. He currently leads a team of Site Coordinators who handle all onsite operations.
Chaise Benton
Call Center Operations Manager
Chaise, a Knoxville, TN native, holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Religious Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After graduation, he spent time abroad teaching English before beginning his career in the building materials industry.
In 2018, Chaise was introduced to the self-storage industry through a part-time role in sales and marketing. In 2020, he transitioned to a full-time position as a founding member of Copper Storage Management. Since then, he has held various roles across the organization, including Call Center Agent, Client Relations Representative, and Digital Marketing Specialist. He now serves as the Director of the Operations Center and also oversees the company’s tenant insurance program.
Outside of work, Chaise enjoys spending time with his partner, Crystal, and their children, Lincoln and Grey. Together, they love traveling, outdoor adventures, and playing and coaching sports.
Emma Kemp
Senior Marketing Analyst
Emma Kemp is the Senior Marketing Analyst at Copper Storage Management, a role she has held for three years. In this position, she collaborates closely with CSM’s marketing partners, internal teams, and clients to ensure each facility’s marketing objectives are achieved. Emma oversees all aspects of digital marketing strategy, including SEO, Google Ads, online listings, and website integrations, driving performance and visibility across CSM’s portfolio.

James Marichal brings over 20 years of leadership experience across client and customer relations, operations, and management in the self-storage, hospitality, and real estate industries directing an array of portfolios and developing talent. Known for his strategic mindset and people-first approach, James specializes in driving performance, building strong client relationships, and leading high-impact teams.
With a background in business, accounting, and management studies, along with certifications in organizational culture and service excellence, James is passionate about delivering results through transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
Fun Fact: A lifelong nature enthusiast, James enjoys capturing wildlife through photography and identifying animal species by sight and sound—all from the comfort of his own backyard sanctuary, where he also grows plants and trees from seeds of fruit he’s eaten!
Meg Agee
Onboarding Manager
Meg Agee is the Onboarding Administrator at Copper Storage Management. She has worked with CSM for 4 years and formulated the onboarding process to facilitate dozens of launches.
At Copper Storage Management, she handles the onboarding of facilities from the signing of the contract to the launch. She sets up software, marketing, and tenant communications.
Tiffani Holloway
Auction Manager
Tiffani Holloway is the Auction Manager at Copper Storage Management, having joined the team in 2021. With a solid understanding of lien laws, auction advertising requirements, and the states where towing for titled property is allowed, she plays a crucial role in our operations. Prior to her role at CSM, Tiffani was a Dispatcher Manager at a towing company, giving her valuable experience in customer service. She is passionate about creating a positive customer experience and is committed to ensuring that our auction sales are both legal and compliant with lien laws in all the states we operate in.
